Just wanted to take a moment to thank my wife and daughter for all their help in the past few weeks. The process to e-publish a book is daunting for a first-timer.
Lea has been a 100% involved throughout. She has read and re-read the manuscript until all hours of the night in order to help make Huntsman as error-free as we can get it. We drank lots of coffee, snarled at each other, apologized and kept plugging away at it.
And Little-Girl…oh, she was a trooper! There is nothing…not one thing… about these proceedings that is easy for a 4 and a 1/2 year old to understand. From the tag-team parenting when one or the other of us was busy with the book stuff, to the ‘Sweetie, Daddy is too busy to play right now’ statements she was so patient with us it boggles my mind!
How do you get a pre-schooler to understand an e-book. (When the proof copy arrived from Createspace she said: Daddy…NOW it’s a real book! Let’s take it over to the library.) (Didn’t have the strength to talk about distribution channels! I’ll wait til she’s five for that!)
And still we proof-read the printed copy to make sure it has no glitches before we okay it for paperback copies. We are not ready to go on the ‘book’ version of the book. But we are getting closer.
Lea and Katushka-Mooshka, you have been the wind beneath my wings. I could not have done any of this without you both.
Next up…Audio-books! Where-in I have to banish everyone from my world in order to record chapters for upload. I foresee a whole new series of sleepless nights…
